Safeguarding and pupil wellbeing - overview

This SLA pays for services that support schools to fulfil their statutory safeguarding duties.

Herefordshire Head Teachers were keen for the original establishment of the MASH. A group of heads worked together to put forward the proposal that was then adopted in Herefordshire and funded via schools forum. The mechanism for funding this (i.e. not centrally from schools monies) had to change from April 2017 because the Secretary of State did not allow Herefordshire to continue with it under revised national funding formula arrangements.
