From early January 2018, we are hosting Herefordshire Council's traded services on the Hoople schools' portal. We hope that you find this a more convenient way to purchase your services from the Council and would welcome any feedback or suggestions for improvement. Below is some key information which will be helpful to read before you get started.
Browser compatibility
Please be aware that this web site will not work properly if you are using an older web browser. The minimum requirement for the web site is Internet Explorer 8.x. The site works well in Google Chrome 3.x and Safari 4.x.
Sometimes, even if you have a recent Internet Explorer browser, it can still behave like a previous version and this site will not work properly. This is a setting in the browser which you can change. You can switch this setting off by going to the 'Tools' menu and selecting 'Compatibility View Settings' then unchecking 'Display intranet sites in compatibility view.'

Who can make purchases
From early 2018 we will be establishing a new system of log-ins for use of the Hoople Schools' portal. From this time, your permissions in terms of access to the Portal and authorisation levels will be determined by your job role. These will be administered via the Hoople Unit4 Business World team in consultation with the Hoople Employee Services team.
What happens when an order is placed
When an order is placed, the user and approver will receive a confirmation email and Hoople will also receive the approved order. Your order will be processed, and you will be invoiced at the start of the new financial year (1 April for LA schools or 1 September for Academies and other educational establishments). You will be able to download or print off your order confirmation as well as being able to log into the site at any time to view or confirm what you have ordered.
Pricing structure
There are several different pricing models used within the portal, eg fixed price, per employee, per pupil, or bespoke pricing. There are some products that are only available to schools, and some that are only available to academies. Each individual school’s prices have been entered into the web site, so when you log in, you will see prices that are specific to your school or academy.

The SLA for each Hoople product is available as a downloadable PDF document and can be found in the description of each product. Hoople's Terms and Conditions are also accessible at the back of each SLA.
From January 2018, you will also be able to purchase a range of Herefordshire Council SLAs from the schools' buying portal. For terms and conditions relating to these Herefordshire Council services, please refer to the associated service lead whose details are included on the service webpage.
